PARK OFFICER JULIE ENGLEHARDT On February 12, 1988, while on routine patrol, parks officer Julie Englehardt received a call that a man had taken a sled away from a boy in the park. Although she was nearing the end of her shift, Julie proceeded to the park and then to the accused man’s home. Unaware the man was deranged, as Julie approached the man he raised a gun and fatally wounded her. Julie, a six-year veteran of LPD, was known as a person always willing to help others, to go that extra mile. Fellow officers will always remember her dedication. Park Officer Julie Englehardt
