PROUD TO BE A LANSING POLICE OFFICER

A civilian takes an oath of office as they receive their BADGE and the power of arrest to become a sworn Lansing Police Officer. As the governmental law enforcement organization for the city of Lansing, and as a part of the criminal justice system, with the continued support of Lansing citizens, the Lansing Police Department remains an outstanding organization. Lansing Police Officers continue to accept the challenge of the future by earning the respect of the citizens they serve. Because they are expected to make instant critical decisions in high-pressure situations, police officers must be self-disciplined, logical, self-motivated individuals, willing to abide by a professional code of ethics. Knowing that on any given day, they have helped another person brings the real reward for the Lansing Police Officers, “BEHIND THE BADGE.”
