CHIEF CHARLES REIFSNYDER

While growing up in Lansing, Charles Reifsnyder often watched a neighbor, an LPD motorcycle officer, climb onto his motorcycle and Reifsnyder decided that someday he’d be a cop. On January 1, 1988, the Board named Charles Reifsnyder Lansing’s 13th chief of police. He held a Bachelor Degree and certificates from both FBI Academy and NUTI.  The rank and file of LPD also included 4 captains, 14 lieutenants, 33 sergeants, 25 detectives, 161 police officers and 8 park officers.
