TRAFFIC DIVISION

Lansing presents a unique traffic control pattern. Rivers, bridges, and railroads are located in central traffic patterns. Many arteries lead in and out of the city; all contribute to traffic congestion. In 1930, LPD created a separate Traffic Division to assist pedestrians and direct traffic at congested intersections.
